Home Instead Senior Care
of the Palm Beaches

I want to thank you so much for your attention to detail and let you know how very much we appreciate the flexibility of your staff. Every caregiver you have sent our way has been especially wonderful, professional and most of all caring. We find the caregivers easy to work with and enjoy their company as much as my mom does.

David and Michelle Florance - Owners

David and Michelle met while attending high school in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., where David grew up and Michelle’s father was stationed in the Army. They married after college, and began their tradition of community involvement in Northern Virginia. When David’s business brought them to South Florida, the tradition continued and expanded to include issues affecting education – as their children grew- and the elderly – as their parents aged. It was the latter that jumped to the forefront of their lives as David and Michelle struggled to identify resources that would enable David’s parents to have the specific care they desperately needed and, eventually, to their discovery of Home Instead Senior Care.

The rest, as they say, is history. In the 15 years since founding Home Instead Senior Care of the Palm Beaches, David and Michelle’s involvement in elder affairs has intensified. David has served on the boards of the Area Agency on Aging, the United Way, Alzheimer’s Community Care, and Alzheimer’s Association, including chairing the Memory Walk for six years in a row. He is currently the President of the National Private Duty Association Florida Chapter, working to reform and enact legislation to improve the quality of care for older adults throughout the state. As strong advocates for the elderly, David and Michelle have made Home Instead Senior Care the premier choice for non-medical, in-home care in Palm Beach County.

Carol Carlsson - Client Care Coordinator

Carol Carlsson, a sixth-generation Texan, grew up on a cattle ranch but left home to attend George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After graduating Carol worked in Communications for the Executive Branch of our government, including stints at the White House and State Department, as well as several positions in private industry. Because of the nature of her work, Carol was often unable to be with her family in Texas as they began to encounter age-related difficulties. Accordingly, when she moved to Florida and joined our team she was immediately able to empathize with other families in similar circumstances. Carol is always enthusiastic about finding the right caregiver for each client, and she works tirelessly to ensure their happiness and wellbeing. It is apparent to the rest of us that Carol has found another job in Communications – she is communicating the Home Instead Senior Care message in everything she does!

Patricia Gilbert - Staff Coordinator

Patricia was born and raised in Miami. After graduating from Lincoln University with a degree in Business Management, Patricia spent the next several years working as Sales Manager for a prestigious Palm Beach resort – somehow finding the time to attend culinary school. Using her cooking skills to create and deliver meals to institutionalized foster children, Patricia quickly became a certified mentor to the children. Her desire to help others eventually led her into the guardianship ad litem program, where she worked as a guardian’s assistant for the elderly. Patricia’s background has proven to be invaluable to our clients and CAREGivers alike as she assists in assessing their needs and working toward that perfect match!

Cori Grant - Administrative Assistant

Cori Grant joined us last fall as our Administrative Assistant.  She is also in charge of our Facebook page, our newsletter and our website.

Paul and Lori Hogan

It All Started With Our Founders

Lori and Paul Hogan, Home Instead Senior Care Co-Founders
It was Paul and Lori Hogan’s own experience caring for Paul's grandmother in her home for 12 years that inspired them to launch Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. Realizing that there were others families like theirs that needed help to keep their loved ones safely living at home, they have devoted themselves to making home care available throughout the U.S. and around the world. It’s what they know and love, and their services allow them to make a real difference to communities, families and individuals everywhere.

Caring Is What We Do

The Hogans’ goal has always been to provide the highest-quality care in the industry, and your local team shares the same vision of being your trusted partner in care. Every Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner has demonstrated a real commitment to caring for seniors and derives personal satisfaction by responding to this critical need that is growing so rapidly.

Our CAREGiversSM Are at the Heart of It All

Our CAREGivers are residents of the local area who are carefully screened, fully bonded and insured. Each takes part in our exclusive multi-phase training and we place a high priority on matching our CAREGivers with our clients to help develop a bond that will foster independence, promote well being and support the senior’s needs with respect and dignity.

Our Guiding Principles
The Home Instead Senior Care franchise network embraces the following core values
held by the Home Office and demonstrated by our commitment to seniors:
To honor God in all we do.
To treat each other with dignity and respect.
To encourage growth in ourselves and others.
To build value in our service to others.
