How do you screen your CAREGivers?
All CAREGivers are thoroughly trained, insured and bonded. We also perform pre-employment drug testing, as well as random drug testing, conduct a nationwide FBI fingerprint search, and retrieve a copy of their Driver Motor Vehicle record (as we do not allow CAREGivers to have any negative driving records). All CAREGivers are tested for TB and must have a negative result to be employed by us. Our first concern is our clients' health and safety.
Can I get in touch with someone after hours?
Yes, we answer our phones live 24/7/365 and are ready to help you anytime.
Can my CAREGiver drive me to appointments?
Yes, part of our screening process and background check is to make sure all of our CAREGivers are safe drivers and they must have current driving insurance. We provide transportation in either your car or our CAREGivers.
Can I increase or change my hours anytime?
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice of any change. In case of an emergency we will do everything we can to accommodate your necessary changes.
What types of payments do you accept?
We accept standard cash, ACH (electronic payments) and credit card payments, as well as assignment of benefits for long-term care insurance.
How many years has your office been in business and are the owners active in the business?
Our office is now in its 12th year of operation. Debbie and Andy Seplow continue to work daily in the business alongside all administrative personnel. They are as much a part of the team as is our staffing personnel, quality assurance persons, bookkeeper and all other key personnel that create successful CAREGiving in our client's homes.
What makes Home Instead Senior Care different from other companies?

Why should I use Home Instead Senior Care rather than an individual with an ad in the newspaper?
There are several reasons why Home Instead Senior Care should be your choice for senior companionship and home care.
  • Our CAREGivers are screened, bonded and insured for your safety.
  • They are trained specifically in elder care and have demonstrated a sincere desire to work with seniors.
  • With Home Instead Senior Care, we handle CAREGiver payment and withholding taxes as required by law.
  • If you hire an individual, he or she may get sick or move away and you’ll have to find someone new.  The Home Instead Senior Care network's large staff of quality employees ensures there will always be a compatible and reliable CAREGiver there for your family member.
How are CAREGivers selected?
First, the Home Instead Senior Care franchise network looks for people who have a passion for working with seniors to help them live independently. Then each potential CAREGiver must successfully complete a thorough personal and professional reference and criminal background check. Each CAREGiver is also bonded and insured.
How do you train your CAREGivers?
Home Instead CAREGivers participate in an exclusive senior care training program, which covers topics such as communicating with seniors, planning activities, recognizing illnesses, safety training and other issues and typical situations encountered in providing elder care.  CAREGivers also benefit from regular team meetings and on-going training opportunities to enhance their skills.
What happens if my CAREGiver gets sick?
Home Instead Senior Care employs a CAREGiver team approach, so if one CAREGiver is ill, we make every effort to make another team member available to meet your home care needs.
Do you provide senior services to those in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?
Yes, Home Instead CAREGivers provide eldercare and companionship to seniors who may require additional attention and/or personalized long term care and reside in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
Who pays the CAREGiver, Home Instead Senior Care or me?
Your CAREGiver is employed by this local, independently owned and operated franchise, which means we handle all the billing, payroll, taxes, insurance and administrative responsibilities for your CAREGiver.
What are your rates and minimum hours of service?
Rates and service hours vary by office. Please contact us for specific rate information.
Is Home Instead Senior Care a cleaning company or maid service?
