Home Instead Senior Care
St. Paul - Northern Suburbs

I want to thank you so much for your attention to detail and let you know how very much we appreciate the flexibility of your staff. Every caregiver you have sent our way has been especially wonderful, professional and most of all caring. We find the caregivers easy to work with and enjoy their company as much as my mom does.

Kendra Phillips - Owner

Kendra Phillips was raised in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  After receiving her bachelor's degree from Moorhead State University, Kendra went on to pursue her interest in mathematics.  She graduated with her master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.  Kendra was hired by the United States Army Corp of Engineers to develop software for Army engineers.  Initially Kendra was interested in the technical work but then discovered she enjoyed heading up a team as a project manager.  In that role, she excelled in leading her group to creating successful results.  This prompted Kendra to pursue her own business venture but she knew the business had to be one where she could lead a team in helping others.  In February 1997, Kendra opened the very first Home Instead Senior Care franchise in the state of Minnesota.  Kendra's mission has remained the same throughout the years:  to experience success in helping people.  Kendra is married to John and has two children, Lindsey and Leah.  She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and listening to country music.

Mary Rempfer - Owner

Mary Rempfer began her professional career as a social worker.  She received her bachelor's degree from Moorhead State University and went on to pursue her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Mary's focus in graduate school and beyond has been the healthcare industry and more specifically she concentrated her efforts on working with seniors.  She has experience as a discharge planner in an acute care setting and at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where she worked primarily with brain injured clients helping them plan for a safe discharge.  When Mary moved to the Twin Cities in 1995, she obtained a position as the Director of Social Services for a Medicare certified home health agency.  In this capacity, Mary was able to assess clients in their own environment versus an institution and became more aware of the desire and growing need of home care as an option for clients.  Mary joined Kendra in July 2004 as a co-owner of the Home Instead Senior Care franchise serving St. Paul and surrounding suburbs.  Mary's hobbies are her family, her two dogs and her music.

Mary has held the position of President for the Minneapolis Area Senior Worker's Association, MN Association of Home Care Social Workers and Social Workers in Marketing.  She is an active member of The Women's Health Leadership TRUST and the Minnesota Chapter of the Private Duty Association.
