Ed and Curly's Story 

Curly lived at home with his wife who served as his primary caregiver until September 2010, when he was admitted to the Colorado State Veteran’s Home at Fitzsimmons.  While at home, Curly was “visited twice a week by an angel in human form – Ed, his Home Instead CAREGiver.”

We recently received a letter from Barb, on behalf of her family, expressing their gratitude for Ed’s compassion, kindness and professionalism in “dealing with Dad – and for the relief and respite he brought Mom.”

Ed was great at engaging Curly.  He assisted with the daily activities of shaving, bathing and exercise.  Also, “he poured over old photo albums and brought his own magazines and books to share with Dad.  He was truly adept at finding things that would spark Dad’s interest and hold his attention.  I know that Dad really enjoyed Ed’s visits – he called him my Ed.”
