Free Alzheimer's Training Now Available To Local Family Caregivers

The Home Instead Senior Care® office serving North San Diego County is offering a new training program called Alzheimer's CARE, designed to help families manage the challenges of Alzheimer's and other dementias – diseases that eventually rob seniors of their memories and independence. Salute to Senior Service: Search on for state's outstanding senior volunteers

The Home Instead Senior Care network has launched a program to honor the volunteer efforts of our unsung senior heroes. The Salute to Senior ServiceSM program will include a search for the most outstanding senior volunteer in California and culminate with the selection of a national Salute to Senior Service winner during Older Americans Month in May.

Seniors' Economic Struggles Continue This Holiday; Santa Program Provides Assistance

The Vista office of the Home Instead Senior Care® network, the world's largest provider of non-medical in-home care and companionship services for older adults, has partnered with Walmart, Encinitas Senior Center, Brengle Senior Center, Carlsbad Senior Center, Oceanside Senior Center, Joslyn Senior Center, the City of San Marcos Senior Center and other local North San Diego County facilities and senior centers for the Be a Santa to a Senior program, which provides gifts and companionship to seniors who otherwise might not receive either this holiday season.

Craving Companionship: Recipe contest helps revive family mealtimes for local seniors

According to research conducted for the Home Instead Senior Care® network, lack of companionship is the biggest mealtime challenge for seniors.
