Family Support for Alzheimer's Care

From the day Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, the rest of us in the family had to start learning. How to keep him safe, how to communicate with him in a way that didn’t lead to frustration, how to remember who Dad was underneath his disease. At times it was very stressful, and we couldn’t have managed any of it without Shirley, his wonderful CAREGiverSM. She not only took great care of him when we couldn’t be there, but helped us make the most of our time with Dad when we were. To us, she’s no longer just hired help; she’s one of the family.
