Women-Owned Businesses Nevada is home to an estimated 85,644 privately held, 50 percent or more women-owned firms, according to a study conducted by the Center for Women. Business Research, as of 2006. Those businesses generate more than $19 billion in sales and employ nearly 91,000 people.
